Girls - U14

U14 Eligible Girls and their Parents:

Outlined below is a review of key information as it relates to the U14 co-op tryouts that
will take place this fall in District One. District One will have a U14A team hosted by Highland Central Hockey Association and a U14B team hosted by Washburn Hockey Association. All eligible U14 aged girls within District One are invited to participate in the warm ups and tryouts. Once tryouts are complete, girls will be placed on one of these two teams by early October.

General Information:

• Prior to participating in warm ups or the tryouts, you must be registered with your home association. This includes your registration with USA hockey.

• Until you are placed on a particular team (U14A or U14B), no volunteer payments to any association is required.

• Prior to tryouts, a $200 tryout fee needs to be paid to Highland Central HockeyAssociation. (This can be paid at the first tryout date.) This $200 fee will be credited towards your yearly association fees.

Warm Up details: (PLEASE NOTE- THESE ARE DIFFERENT DATES/TIMES THAN HAVE BEEN PREVIOUSLY COMMUNICATED)

• The warm up ice sessions will be led by HCHA Hockey Development Staff and will take place at the following dates and times (please note the changes from previous communications).

• The warm up ice costs $90 and your payment should be mailed to HCHA Fall Warm-ups, c/o John Lang, 1716 Van Buren Ave., Saint Paul, MN 55104. Due to the short notice of this information, please email John if you plan on attending the warm up sessions at emmetlang@qwest.net

Tryouts:

Sept. 28th 8pm HN Skills evaluation (listed above as well)

Sept. 30th 8:50pm HS Scrimmage #1

Oct 2nd 8:50pm HS Scrimmage #2

Oct 4th 3pm HS Scrimmage #3

• It is important to attend as many of the tryouts as possible, in order for the evaluators to obtain a complete assessment. However, there is no penalty for any missed tryouts.

• The first night of tryouts is a skill evaluation, while the other three will be run as scrimmages. At each tryout session, girls will be assigned to different scrimmage teams per the evaluator’s discretion.

• The tryouts are run by HCHA Hockey development staff and are conducted with outside, independent evaluators.

• Please arrive 30 minutes prior to the ice time. Tryout jerseys will be assigned and will start promptly at the assigned times.

• Please bring your own water bottle.

• Prior coaches and current coaching candidates will be allowed on the ice during

the skill evaluations.

Team Formation:

• Teams will be determined shortly following the tryout process. As we get closer to the tryout dates, we will provide further information about when tryout results will be posted. Our goal is to post them as quickly as possible.

• Shortly thereafter, a team meeting will be called and practices will begin.
